Common Measures

Evidence-Based Practice

Per K.S.A. 38-2102, as a condition precedent to funding, every program must demonstrate:

  • that the program's design is supported by credible research
  • that the program as implemented will constitute best practices in the field
  • that data is available to benchmark the program's desired outcomes
  • the capacity to appropriately implement & administer ECBG programming.

Any program that is being evaluated (i.e., listed on your Common Measures table), should be using an Evidence-Based Practice (EBP).  WSU has put together a list of EBP for reference.  If you do not see your curriculum listed, please reach out to WSU and they will review and get it added.  The California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare is also a good resource for Home Visiting, Parent Education and Case Management programs if you cannot find your curriculum on the Early Childhood CareTools website.
